Nigerian Wedding Invitations: Traditional and White Weddings, Aso Ebi and Big Guest Lists
Our Sweet Day Team, October 25, 2026
Many Nigerian couples celebrate twice: a traditional wedding with the families, and a white wedding in church followed by a reception. Guest lists are generous, and the aso ebi, the fabric families and friends wear in matching colours, is part of the joy.
One Website for Both Days
Use the Program section for both days: the traditional ceremony (engagement), and the church wedding with the reception. Put the venue and time of each one, so guests travelling from abroad can plan.
Wording Examples
- "The families of Adeyemi and Okafor joyfully invite you to the wedding of their children, Funmi and Chidi"
- "With gratitude to God, we invite you to celebrate our union"
The Aso Ebi
In the Attire section, describe the aso ebi and add its colours, with how to order the fabric if you are selling it to guests. Everyone can see the colours on their phone before they go to the tailor.
A Big Guest List, Kept Under Control
Send each family its own personal link with the number of people invited, so the headcount matches the hall. Shared links help for groups. Replies arrive in your guest list, and a planner or family member can help through client access.
Seating
For the reception, the seating planner draws round or long tables; each household can see its table on its invitation once you reveal the plan.
Gifts
The Gifts section takes a short note about gifts, a registry or a cash gift, worded the way your family prefers.
