The Letter: a proposal invitation template
A folded letter on a desk: it opens on their name, handwritten, and the question. They answer by pressing one of two wax seals.
The design
The page is a writing desk with one letter on it, folded in three and addressed by hand. A tap unfolds it: the top panel lifts, the bottom panel drops, and their name is written in ink above the question, with your personal note in the margin. Below, the letter itself: why you chose them and what saying yes would mean, the day pencilled on a tucked-in card, a photograph clipped to the corner, a P.S. that makes no as easy to say as yes, and your signature. The answer is two wax seals of the same size and colour, Yes and No; the one they press is impressed on the letter.
Colours and type
The Letter comes in 3 colourways: Walnut desk & oxblood wax, Linen table & sage wax and Midnight desk & gold wax, with 3 type pairings: Correspondence, Caslon & quill and Spectral & pen. The colours and type change in the editor at any time; the layout stays its own.
Who it suits
Made for godparent, wedding party, date and sponsor, in the Envelope & stationery style.
What is included

More proposal templates
- Player Two: An arcade cabinet waiting in attract mode: "Player 2, press start". They press it, a little pixel scene plays, and the screen asks the question.
- Tick One Box: The note passed across the classroom, folded into a tight triangle with their name on it. They unfold it, read the question, and answer by ticking a box: Yes or No.
- The Corsage Box: A wrist corsage on satin in a clear florist's box, their name on the lid. Lift the lid and the ribbon tag slides out with the question and the occasion.
- Two Across: The weekend crossword, set by you for one solver. The starred clue is your question; the shaded answers are their name and the word date, and tapping them pens them in.
- Side B, Track Six: A mixtape made by hand. They open the clear case, the J-card folds out in marker and biro, and the last track on side B, ringed twice, is your question.
- Admit Two: A pair of cinema tickets, seats side by side. They tear off the stub to keep, turn it over, and the question is printed on the back.
- Par Avion: A paper plane folded from airmail paper waits on the desk with their name on the wing. One tap throws it: it loops the room, lands, and unfolds into the question.
- Four Flashes: A photo booth on a fairground at night. They press the button: the strip feeds out of the slot, the booth flashes four times, and the fourth frame is you holding up a card with the question.
