Hello, My Name Is: a proposal invitation template
The little card from the end of the hospital bassinet, in its clear sleeve, with the baby's ID band beside it. They turn the card over: the nursery is also looking for one godparent, and the applicant is them.
The design
Every baby's first paperwork is the crib card slipped into the sleeve on the end of the bassinet: Hello, my name is, the time they arrived, the weight, the length, the proud parents in felt-tip. This invitation is that card, on a striped receiving blanket, with the soft ID band from the baby's ankle lying beside it. Tap the card and it is pulled out of the sleeve, turned over and slid back: the back is a nursery notice that reads Also looking for: one godmother (or godfather, or godparent, whatever you chose for them), with their name written in on the applicant line, the question printed beneath and your note for them in the Notes box. Below, the application on the same card stock: a note from the parents, the reasons for the referral ticked in pen, what the position involves, the induction day, photographs paper-clipped to the form, the small print that makes no as easy to say as yes, and your signature. They answer by ticking one of two boxes of the same size. Yes prints them a matching ID band with the baby's number on it, the way parents get one; no gives them a visitor sticker that says always welcome.
Colours and type
Hello, My Name Is comes in 3 colourways: Receiving blanket, pink & blue, Mint nursery & lemon and Night feed, blue & blush, with 2 type pairings: Nursery print & felt-tip and Ward label & marker. The colours and type change in the editor at any time; the layout stays its own.
Who it suits
Made for godparent, in the Interactive style.

- Player Two: An arcade cabinet waiting in attract mode: "Player 2, press start". They press it, a little pixel scene plays, and the screen asks the question.
- Tick One Box: The note passed across the classroom, folded into a tight triangle with their name on it. They unfold it, read the question, and answer by ticking a box: Yes or No.
- The Corsage Box: A wrist corsage on satin in a clear florist's box, their name on the lid. Lift the lid and the ribbon tag slides out with the question and the occasion.
- Two Across: The weekend crossword, set by you for one solver. The starred clue is your question; the shaded answers are their name and the word date, and tapping them pens them in.
- Side B, Track Six: A mixtape made by hand. They open the clear case, the J-card folds out in marker and biro, and the last track on side B, ringed twice, is your question.
- Admit Two: A pair of cinema tickets, seats side by side. They tear off the stub to keep, turn it over, and the question is printed on the back.
- Par Avion: A paper plane folded from airmail paper waits on the desk with their name on the wing. One tap throws it: it loops the room, lands, and unfolds into the question.
- Four Flashes: A photo booth on a fairground at night. They press the button: the strip feeds out of the slot, the booth flashes four times, and the fourth frame is you holding up a card with the question.
