Picture This: a proposal invitation template
One instant photo of the two of you, still blank, on the table: they shake it, it develops, and the caption in marker is the question.
The design
The whole invitation is a single instant photo, fresh out of the camera, lying on a table with a scrap of paper tucked under its corner. The picture is still dark and murky, and the white frame carries their name in marker. They shake it (drag it side to side, or just tap) and your photo develops: shadows first, then the colour warms in, a date stamp glows in the corner, and the marker writes the rest of the caption, "Ruth, will you be our best woman?". Your personal note is the scrap tucked under the photo. Below, everything else is in the same medium: the other prints from the same pack, each with a reason why it had to be them written on its frame; then the back of the photo, where you wrote the letter, what the role involves, the day, a P.S. that makes no as easy to say as yes, and your names. They answer by choosing one of two blank prints of the same size, Yes and No. A yes fires the flash and a new print slides out and develops warmly, taped up for the fridge; a no develops softly and is tucked gently into an album corner, because they are still in the pictures.
Colours and type
Picture This comes in 3 colourways: Walnut table & orange date stamp, Linen cloth & red marker and Night table & amber flash, with 2 type pairings: Felt tip & serif and Fine liner & grotesk. The colours and type change in the editor at any time; the layout stays its own.

- Tick One Box: The note passed across the classroom, folded into a tight triangle with their name on it. They unfold it, read the question, and answer by ticking a box: Yes or No.
- The Corsage Box: A wrist corsage on satin in a clear florist's box, their name on the lid. Lift the lid and the ribbon tag slides out with the question and the occasion.
- Two Across: The weekend crossword, set by you for one solver. The starred clue is your question; the shaded answers are their name and the word date, and tapping them pens them in.
- Side B, Track Six: A mixtape made by hand. They open the clear case, the J-card folds out in marker and biro, and the last track on side B, ringed twice, is your question.
- Admit Two: A pair of cinema tickets, seats side by side. They tear off the stub to keep, turn it over, and the question is printed on the back.
- Par Avion: A paper plane folded from airmail paper waits on the desk with their name on the wing. One tap throws it: it loops the room, lands, and unfolds into the question.
- Four Flashes: A photo booth on a fairground at night. They press the button: the strip feeds out of the slot, the booth flashes four times, and the fourth frame is you holding up a card with the question.
