Lantern Hill: a christening invitation template
A papercut lightbox: watch the light come on behind the hills, tilt the box to part its paper layers, open the chapel doors and light a lantern for each godparent.
The design
The invitation is a deep shadow box of cut paper, lit from behind. On the first screen the box sits dark and flat, at an angle: the light flickers on, the layers part in depth (a sky with pinprick stars, the baby's photograph as the moon, far hills, the chapel on its hill, an oak, a front hill with the date cut through it), the box turns to face the guest and the child's name settles as its own paper layer. A guest tilts the box with a finger to see the layers slide past each other, and changes the light with the little remote: candle, dawn or moonlight. Every section below is another layer of the same box, a lit horizon of cut hills with the backlight glowing between them: the chapel's doors swing open to spill light onto the path, the birth details hang from a paper moon like a mobile and swing when touched, each godparent has a paper lantern to light, the order of the day passes under a paper sun that crosses the sky as you scroll, the photographs slide behind an arched cut-paper window, the dress colours are cut into a little landscape of their own, and a reply lowers a paper star on a thread and lights it.
Colours and type
Lantern Hill comes in 4 colourways: Morning paper, Blush paper, Sage paper and Lilac paper, with 2 type pairings: Storybook and Cut lettering. The colours and type change in the editor at any time; the layout stays its own.

What is included
An invitation website with the church and the celebration after, the godparents, your photos, a song if you want one, and the RSVP with the number of adults and children coming.
