Red Thread: a wedding invitation template
A Chinese invitation written as one long letter: vermilion on warm paper, a red thread tying every page together, and the lunar date beside the solar one.
The design
Opens on your photograph with the two names set wide apart in a Song serif and the date in the corner, then turns to a cream page where a single red thread drops from your names. Each story moment is a framed print followed by its letter on a different paper (ruled letter, grid memo, postcard with a postmark, rose note), the thread tying a knot between them, before it lies level at dusk, ties the knot under a moon with the countdown, and closes in a ring around the RSVP; a red 囍 card, the formal invitation with the lunar date, the full entourage on a ruled letter and a book-page closing complete it.
Colours and type
Red Thread comes in 4 colourways: Vermilion on paper, Peony, Jade & red thread and Wine & gold thread, with 3 type pairings: Song serif & WenKai hand, Cormorant & Zhi Mang Xing and DM Serif & Long Cang. The colours and type change in the editor at any time; the layout stays its own.
Style
Cultural, from the chinese tradition.
