Salon Privé: a birthday invitation template
A milestone birthday as a private casino night: a deck of playing cards with the birthday person as the Queen of Hearts and the age as the card's value, a roulette wheel for the evening's order of play, and chips to place your bet.
The design
Opens on a baize card table under a single lamp. A card is dealt face down from the far side of the table, holds a beat, and turns over: the Queen of Hearts, with the birthday photo as the court face and the age printed in both corners as the card's value. The name arrives under it and the date, doors and room are printed in gold leaf on the felt. Every section after it is another card from the same deck, each with its own rank in the corners (the Ace of Spades carries the invitation, the King of Clubs the table and the countdown, a tucked card the late room), or something printed on the table itself: the order of play is a roulette wheel the guest can spin (the ball drops into a pocket and a chip lands on that part of the evening; zero, and the house wins), the story is the hand she was dealt, the dress code is a row of clay chips that flip in the air, photos are cards laid on the felt, the questions are the house rules, adults-only is a high-value plaque, and the reply is a bet placed on the layout: the stack slides onto Present, Perhaps or Regrets and the croupier's stamp lands, Les jeux sont faits. It closes on the back of the next card: the age plus one.
Colours and type
Salon Privé comes in 3 colourways: Bleu de Minuit, Tapis Vert and Bordeaux, with 2 type pairings: Bodoni Moda & EB Garamond and Gloock & Newsreader. The colours and type change in the editor at any time; the layout stays its own.
Who it suits
Made for adult, in the Themed style.
