Vintage Ballpark: a birthday invitation template
The invitation is an old ballpark's hand-operated scoreboard: the birthday kid's trading card tacked to the painted wall, steel number plates hung by hand, and a ticket for the reply.
The design
Opens on the crown of a green-painted outfield scoreboard: the lamps switch on, a sign painter letters the kid's name in ballpark script with its swash tail, the day's plates drop onto their hooks and, after a beat, the age plate is hung. Below it the kid's trading card is tacked to the wall, photo and all; tap it and it flips to the back. Every section is another part of the same wall: a hand-operated countdown board next to a 'Hit this sign' ad you can actually hit, the back of the card with career stats for the story, an aerial plan of the park with a pin at home plate, the program as innings where guests hang the runs, painted ground rules for parents, felt pennants in the party colours, the card set for the photos, the concession stand menu for gifts, the rule book for questions and a letterpress ticket for the reply, whose stub the usher tears when it is sent. It ends on the signed home-run ball at the foot of the wall.
Colours and type
Vintage Ballpark comes in 3 colourways: Outfield green, Night game and Day game cream, with 2 type pairings: Alfa Slab & Old Standard and Bevan & Libre Caslon. The colours and type change in the editor at any time; the layout stays its own.
Who it suits
Made for kids, in the Themed style.
