The Birthday Issue: a birthday invitation template
A birthday as a glossy magazine: the name as the masthead, the guest of honour on the cover, cover lines, a contents page and every detail filed as a feature.
The design
Opens like a cover shoot: the studio flash fires, the photograph settles, the masthead (the celebrant's own name, in a towering Didone) rises up behind the cover star's head, the cover lines slide in, the age lands as a giant numeral beside the milestone, a "Special Birthday Issue" roundel is stuck on and a gloss sheen runs across the cover. Scan the barcode and it beeps the price (one toast). Inside it's a magazine all the way down: a contents page whose page numbers turn to the feature, the editor's letter signed by the hosts, the cover story with a standfirst, drop cap, pull quote and a life in moments, the guide to the venue, the calendar of the night (tap a time to save it), a style file with paint-chip colours and a scent strip you can peel, party pages, an advice column for the questions, a shopping page for gifts and a bound-in subscription card for the reply, stamped POSTAGE PAID when it's sent. Every page has a folio and a corner you can dog-ear. Works for every kind: kids get a Parents' Guide sidebar; debuts get the 18 Roses as the power list, the candles as Bright Lights, the treasures as The Edit, the court as a fashion spread with credits and the parents' message on the letters page.
Colours and type
The Birthday Issue comes in 3 colourways: Cover Red, Hot Pink and Cobalt & Citrus, with 2 type pairings: Bodoni Moda & Newsreader and Gloock & Literata. The colours and type change in the editor at any time; the layout stays its own.
Who it suits
Made for kids, adult and debut, in the Themed style.
What is included
An invitation website with the party's details and place, your photos, a song if you want one, and the RSVP with the number of adults and children coming. You write your own words and add your photos in the live editor, send every guest a personal link by email or any messaging app, and follow the replies as they come in. Free for up to 20 guests, with the full design.
