The Birthday Workbook: a birthday invitation template
A birthday kept, naturally, in a spreadsheet: the formula bar types =AGE("Dana") and the cell resolves to the age, every section is a sheet tab, the story is a chart and the reply adds your row to the guest table.
The design
The whole invitation is a workbook open in a green-grid office spreadsheet: the file is called something like Dana_40_FINAL_v3, the ribbon is up top and the sheet tabs run along the bottom. On the first sheet the formula bar types =AGE("Dana"), holds for a beat, and on Enter the cell resolves to forty and turns green under its own conditional formatting, with the milestone as a cell comment and a fill handle guests can drag to auto-fill the years ahead (it gets undone). Tap any cell and the formula bar explains it: the date is =DATE(...), the hosts are a concatenation. Each section is its own sheet: the story as a rising column chart with a circular-reference warning on "best year", the program as rows with colour-scale energy bars (the cake row returns #VALUE!), the questions as cell comments with red corner triangles, the dress code as the fill-colour palette, the photos as inserted pictures, gifts as a hyperlink cell. Debut lists of eighteen become formatted tables with a COUNTA total row, a surprise becomes a hidden protected sheet and the kids' details a sheet of checkboxes for parents. Replying inserts the guest's row into the guest table and the SUM of attendees ticks up.
Colours and type
The Birthday Workbook comes in 3 colourways: Office Green, Dark Mode and Green-bar Ledger, with 2 type pairings: Plex Condensed & Plex Sans and Bricolage Grotesque & Instrument Sans. The colours and type change in the editor at any time; the layout stays its own.
Who it suits
Made for kids, adult and debut, in the Themed style.
