Gilt Keepsake Card: a christening invitation template
A set of little steel-engraved keepsake cards with gilt edges: turn the card in your hand and watch the gilt catch the light.
The design
The small keepsake card handed out at christenings, the kind kept for decades in a prayer book: heavy card with a gilt edge, a steel engraving of a scallop shell in a glory of rays, the child's name under an engraved banderole. It arrives edge on, a single line of gold, and turns to face the guest. The guest holds it: drag it round and it turns in the hand, the gilt edge flaring as it passes edge on, and the back carries the printed souvenir and a handwritten line from the parents. The rest of the invitation is the same engraver's series, plate by plate: the chapel is engraved line by line as you scroll down to it, the godparents are cards of their own that spin when touched, the baby's photograph is a mechanical pull-tab card whose slats turn it into an engraving, the dress colours are a colourist's pans for hand-tinting the engraved lilies with a finger, the photographs stand in a turning card rack, and when a guest replies, a keepsake card with their own name is dealt to them.

Gilt Keepsake Card comes in 4 colourways: Ivory card on sky velvet, Blush card on rose velvet, Ivory card on sage velvet and White card on linen, with 2 type pairings: Steel plate and Copperplate. The colours and type change in the editor at any time; the layout stays its own.
