KPop Demon Hunters Tiger Scroll: a birthday invitation template
The invitation is a Korean hanging scroll of folk painting: Derpy the tiger and Sussie the magpie on hanji, the child's name brushed down the side and the hosts' red seal at the foot.
The design
Opens on the top of a Joseon-style hanging scroll in calm daylight: a wooden rod on a silk cord, a silk mount, and the official minhwa painting of Derpy the tiger and Sussie the magpie, with the child's name brushed in a vertical column beside it, "eighth spring" in Hangul and the hosts' red seal; the scroll unrolls from the rod and the seal stamps down. Below, the golden Honmoon runs between sections as gold-leaf lines: the portrait in a round moon window with Derpy lounging on the sill, Derpy carrying the save-the-date card over a countdown in ink chips, the story on a folding screen with a painted motif on each panel, the venue in a mountain landscape where the Honmoon is the path to the door, the order of the day in cinnabar seals down an ink line, a sealed letter to the grown-ups, the colours to wear as the painter's pigment dishes, photos as silk-mounted album leaves, gifts in a patchwork bojagi, questions answered by the magpie, a reply sheet with Sussie perched on its rod, and the bottom roller: "Next spring, Mika turns nine."
