Super Mario Bros. 1-1: a birthday invitation template
The invitation is one playable Super Mario Bros. level: Mario punches a ? block and the birthday kid's photo rises out of it, and the party unfolds block by block down to the flagpole and the castle.
The design
Opens on the title screen of a NES Super Mario Bros. game: the status line counts the coins (days to go) and the TIME, the brown title plaque reads SUPER GIO PARTY, and Mario leaps in to punch a ? block so the child's photo rises out of it like a Super Mushroom. The world number is the age (World 6-1), and the whole page is that one level, standing on the same brick ground and joined by warp pipes: a lives screen with the countdown, the story as power-ups collected, the details revealed by three ? blocks while Toad explains that the party is in another castle, the program as the hard-block staircase, Luigi springing out of a pipe for the grown-ups, the dress code as power-ups to pick, photos in the underground bonus room, the wish list in the Warp Zone, questions in ? blocks, and the reply at the flagpole and castle with Peach cheering on the battlements. It ends with fireworks and a new quest: next year's world.
Colours and type
Super Mario Bros. 1-1 comes in 3 colourways: World 1-1 day, Night level and Underground, with 2 type pairings: Press Start 2P & Pixelify and Silkscreen & VT323. The colours and type change in the editor at any time; the layout stays its own.
Who it suits
Made for kids, in the Themed style.
