Pirate Treasure Map: a birthday invitation template
The invitation is a hand-drawn treasure map on singed parchment: a dotted route runs from the anchored ship past the date and time to the X that marks the party, and guests send their reply by message in a bottle.
The design
Opens on a sea chart, torn and singed at the edges: "A true chart of Isla Kino", the island named after your child. The coastline inks itself in, the compass rose swings to north, and a dotted route draws from the little ship at anchor past "Land ashore" (the date) and "Clock Rock" (the time) to the X that marks the venue; the X is struck, a sea serpent surfaces in the margin and a wax seal is pressed with the age. The child's portrait sits in a rope-framed medallion like an old chart's cartouche. Every section is another part of the same chart: the countdown as the scale bar (leagues to go), the story as an archipelago of years with one islet per moment, sailing directions with an inset where guests dig at the X for a chest of doubloons, the program as a table of tides, a notice to mariners for parents, signal pennants for the colours, views of the coast for the photos, buried treasure for gifts and "Here be questions" with a kraken in the margin. The reply goes in a bottle: the note rolls in, the cork goes in, and it sails off the chart.
Colours and type
Pirate Treasure Map comes in 3 colourways: Old parchment, Admiralty chart and Night watch, with 2 type pairings: Pirata One & IM Fell and Grenze Gotisch & Alegreya. The colours and type change in the editor at any time; the layout stays its own.
Who it suits
Made for kids, in the Themed style.
